I will be a bit off the grid for two weeks; heading to Dumaguete City on Negros Island in the Central Philippines. Many of you know that I have led student trips there for the past six years; no longer doing that with Francis Parker School, but still very much involved in their trip planning and the philanthropic work that I started via that program.
My wife, Julie, has never been; she has heard the stories and seen the photos all the way back to 1981 when I spent a year teaching and learning at Silliman University. So this will be a great chance to relax with some of my very best friends in the world, and introduce Julie to the experience. As an added treat, our son, Josh, and his girlfriend are traveling to Hong Kong for a conference and will detour and overlap with us in the Philippines for about four days.
Am sure I will post some photos and quick reflections, but hopefully little to do with K-12 education! And yes, believe me, you DO wish you were there instead of pretty much wherever you are!
Brandi and Greg said to say hello and wishing you the best…
