I am so happy, honored, and
to announce that I have signed a contract to publish my manuscript covering my travels and work of the last year with Jossey-Bass Publishers!
To be honest, I had never given a lot of thought to who publishes the books I read. But when I started to reach out to potential publishers for my own book, I went to my bookshelf and found that Jossey-Bass publishes authors like Milton Chen, Chip and Dan Heath, Stephen Denning, Bernie Trilling and Charles Fadel, Gary Hamel, Doug Crandall, and many more thought leaders in education, innovation and change, and leadership.
We have not settled on a title yet…kicking around ideas and images of brushfires, my Prius, innovation, and more. And there is still a lot of work to be done. I have begged my editor to be liberal with her comments and suggestions!
I think we are looking at a publication date in mid-2014; stay tuned!
Of course I want to shout out a thank-you to all the school leaders, teachers, students, and blog readers who hosted, talked with, and supported me during my EdJourney last fall, and with whom I have worked and continued to build the knowledge base in the last nine months. This is your work, your vision, your passion…I am the conduit, the synthesizer, the switchboard. And a special thank you to Ken Kay and Bernie Trilling who generously put me in touch with the folks at Jossey-Bass in the first place.
Lot’s to do, but I already have the next book forming in my head!
Grant, this is great news! Looking forward to reading it.
That’s awesome! Congratulations — can’t wait to ask you to sign my copy!
Congratulations, Grant! This is a well-deserved honor, and certainly I will wait to buy and add to my bookshelf!!!
