Social media is the clothing of a new Goddess of Connectivity…until one realizes just how many people they are connected with and how important each of them are, as an individual within and beyond the collective. Last night flying home from Texas from my last school-team visit of what has been both an extremely busy and transformational calendar year, I realized that I don’t take the time to thank people enough for the opportunity and privilege of sharing time and ideas with them. I sent out a handful of emails today, but that does not put a dent into my list of those from who I have learned; whose stories I have told; and hopefully who have been pushed in their thinking by some idea or provocation I have managed to “switchboard” into their school life.
I could send out a shotgun email to everyone in my contacts list, but it would be perhaps even less personal than a short blog post. To those who read and follow my blog: thanks so much; knowing you check in from time to time and that you may find and connect with an idea that helps you and the students who you serve is all the energy I will ever need! Most of all, thanks for what you do every day on behalf of those students.
I hope you will find time in the upcoming holidays to find that time to stop, to just “be” with family and friends, before school or other life picks back up again in January!
Thank you, Grant, for the gift you are to all of us! Please enjoy some respite and family time during this season. I can’t wait to read your next post which, as always, will get me thinking!
Thanks, Angel; best to you and yours!
